Rodin Energy Matrix

Vortex Based Mathematics, Sacred Geometry & the Flow of Electromagnetic Consciousness

Origins: Marko Rodin and the Rediscovery

The pattern animated here is known as the Rodin Number Map or the Mathematical Fingerprint of God — a term used by its discoverer, Marko Rodin, an independent American researcher who began developing what he calls Vortex Based Mathematics (VBM) in the 1970s and 1980s.

Rodin’s journey began not in a laboratory but in a spiritual inquiry. At the age of fifteen he asked himself what the secret behind all intelligence was, and his answer led him to study the names of the divine across the world’s great religions. When he encountered the Bahá’í Faith, he became captivated by the sacred name Abhá — the Most Great Name of God in that tradition. Using the ancient Abjad system of Arabic and Persian letter-to-number correspondence, he converted Abhá into numbers and discovered that the result reduced to 9 — a number described throughout Bahá’í and many other sacred texts as the number of completion and divine unity.

This discovery sent him deeper. He drew a circle, placed 9 at the top, and arranged the numbers 1 through 8 clockwise around it. Within this simple arrangement he found an extraordinary hidden pattern — a self-referencing, never-ending mathematical circuit that he believed encoded the fundamental flow of energy throughout the universe.

“I have discovered the underpinning geometry of the Universe.” — Marko Rodin

Rodin presented his work publicly at the 2009 ExtraOrdinary Technology Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico, bringing the Rodin Coil — the physical electromagnetic implementation of VBM — to wider scientific attention. Russell Blake, senior researcher at Microsoft, described the coherence within Rodin’s system as “fantastic… existing since the beginning of time but yet to be harnessed by mankind.”

Full documentation of Rodin’s work is available at markorodin.com and through extensive open-source archives including rexresearch.com/rodin.

The Connection to Nikola Tesla

Rodin’s work draws a deep parallel with Nikola Tesla, the Serbian-American inventor and electrical pioneer, who is widely reported to have said:

“If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, the 6 and the 9, then you would have a key to the universe.”

Tesla himself was obsessed with the numbers 3, 6 and 9 — circling buildings three times before entering, performing actions in multiples of three. Whether or not this quote is precisely his, the mathematical truth it points to is embedded in VBM: the numbers 3, 6 and 9 occupy a fundamentally different order of existence to the remaining numbers in our base-ten system, and the animation above is a direct visualisation of why.

The Doubling Circuit: 1 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 7 → 5

The Sequence

Begin with the number 1 and keep doubling. Apply digital root reduction — summing the digits of any result until you reach a single digit — and something remarkable occurs:

1 × 2 = 2

2 × 2 = 4

4 × 2 = 8

8 × 2 = 16 → 1+6 = 7

7 × 2 = 14 → 1+4 = 5

5 × 2 = 10 → 1+0 = 1returns to start

The sequence 1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5 repeats endlessly, never producing a 3, 6, or 9. It is a closed loop — a bounded infinity of spin. Rodin describes it as “the path that infinity takes before it repeats itself… the longest mean free pathway of least resistance.”

The Reverse Circuit

Now halve instead of doubling — or equivalently, run the circuit backwards — and the same six numbers appear in reverse order:

1 ÷ 2 = 0.5 → 5

5 ÷ 2 = 2.5 → 2+5 = 7

7 ÷ 2 = 3.5 → 3+5 = 8

8 ÷ 2 = 4

4 ÷ 2 = 2

2 ÷ 2 = 1returns to start

This gives us our two counter-rotating circuits: 1→2→4→8→7→5→1 (red) and 1→5→7→8→4→2→1 (green). In the animation these two circuits share the same geometric star-polygon paths but flow in opposite directions simultaneously — two streams of energy coursing through the same channels in mirror symmetry, exactly as electrical current flows in a toroidal coil.

The Star Polygon Geometry

When the sequence is mapped onto the nine-point circle with 9 at the top, the doubling circuit traces a specific star polygon — a hexagonal asterisk of crossing diagonals. The lines connect:

1 → 2 → 4 → 8 → 7 → 5 → 1

These are not arbitrary — they are straight-line chords across the circle, forming a pair of interlocked triangles that together produce three interior crossing points. The most significant of these is the central crossing — the intersection of diagonals 1→5 and 4→8 — which sits at the precise geometric heart of the matrix and is the point at which both counter-rotating circuits cross simultaneously. This is visualised in the animation as the white-yellow-green energy flash at the centre: the node at which opposing electromagnetic polarities meet, annihilate momentarily, and reverse.

The 3-6-9: The Magnetic Trinity

Why 3, 6 and 9 Stand Apart

Notice that 3, 6 and 9 never appear in the doubling circuit. This is not an accident. They occupy what Rodin calls a separate dimension — one that governs the doubling circuit without being consumed by it. Examine their own doubling behaviour:

3 × 2 = 6

6 × 2 = 12 → 1+2 = 3

3 × 2 = 6oscillates between 3 and 6 forever

9 × any number → digital root always = 9

The 3 and 6 oscillate endlessly between each other, forming their own binary polarity — a positive and negative pulse that never resolves into the 1–8 world. The 9, meanwhile, is the supreme invariant: any multiple of 9 always reduces back to 9. It never changes. It is the axis.

Electromagnetic Polarity

Rodin maps the 3-6-9 system directly onto electromagnetic behaviour:

Number Role Electromagnetic Equivalent
9 The Axis — vertical singularity The central flux line; the Spirit channel; the zero-point field emanating through the core of every toroidal magnetic field
3 Positive polarity node One magnetic pole of the oscillating 3↔6 binary; the contracting / inward vortex half-cycle
6 Negative polarity node The opposing magnetic pole; the expanding / outward vortex half-cycle

In the animation, 3 and 6 are always opposite in polarity to 9 — when 9 is positive (+), 3 and 6 are negative (−), and vice versa. This mirrors the behaviour of the poles of a toroidal electromagnetic coil, where the inner axis and outer rim carry opposing magnetic orientations. The polarity reverses each time the two counter-rotating energy pulses meet at the central crossing — a mathematical model of electromagnetic induction, where a moving field crossing a conductor induces a reversal of current direction.

The Rodin Coil — wire wound around a toroid following the 1,2,4,8,7,5 pathway — has been reported by multiple experimenters to produce anomalous electromagnetic effects including a displaced magnetic south pole, reduced resistance, and unusual inductive properties. While mainstream physics has not yet formally validated these claims, the coil design has attracted serious engineering interest. See this academic overview for a survey of experimental findings.

“The 9 demonstrates the Omni dimension — the higher dimensional flux emanation called Spirit that always occurs within the centre of the magnetic field lines… it is the singularity, the Primal Point of Unity.” — Marko Rodin

The Two Sacred Shapes

The complete Rodin Energy Matrix contains two geometrically and numerologically distinct shapes that together form the whole:

1. The Doubling Circuit Star — The Path of Energy

The six-pointed star polygon traced by 1→2→4→8→7→5 and its counter-circuit. This is the path of manifest electromagnetic energy — the doubling and halving of power as it flows through the physical universe. In sacred geometry this shape is related to the Merkaba or Star Tetrahedron — the vehicle of light, the dynamic of creation and dissolution alternating in eternal rhythm.

2. The 3-6-9 Triangle — The Gateway of Spirit

The open downward-pointing triangle formed by connecting 9→3 and 9→6 (with no base joining 3 to 6). This is deliberately open at the base — it is not a closed form but a gateway. The 9 at the apex is the divine source; the 3 and 6 at the wings are the polarised manifest expressions of that source. Together they form the structure within which the doubling circuit operates — the container and the contained, spirit and matter, the ineffable and the expressed.

Ceremonial & Ritual Application

The following describes traditional and contemporary magical working methods. It is offered in the spirit of the Western esoteric and Wiccan traditions as practised on this site. Adapt to your own path and intention.

Tracing the Doubling Circuit — Working with Energy & Manifestation

The doubling circuit 1→2→4→8→7→5→1 represents the flow of manifest creative force — the doubling of potential, the exponential spiral of becoming. Tracing this circuit physically or in visualisation draws this energy through the practitioner and anchors it in the working.

Method — Two-Finger Tracing: Using the index and middle finger held together (or both index fingers of each hand simultaneously to trace both counter-circuits at once), draw the star polygon in the air before you, on your altar cloth, on the earth, or on the body of a working partner. Begin at the position of 1 (upper right), move to 2, to 4 (lower right), across to 8 (upper left), down to 7, across to 5 (lower left), and return to 1. The reverse circuit is traced simultaneously with the other hand: 1→5→7→8→4→2→1.

With Incense: Pass a lit incense stick (dragon’s blood, frankincense, or copal are traditional for this working) along the circuit path in the air. The smoke traces the energy path visibly, creating a transient manifestation of the flow in the physical dimension. Allow the smoke to curl freely — its behaviour at the crossing points will show you where the energy is most active.

Intention: Use this circuit for manifestation, amplification, and building power. The doubling nature of the sequence mirrors the doubling of any intention — speak your working at 1, feel it redoubling at each node, and by the time you return to 1 you have traced an energetic octave of your original intent. This is particularly potent for workings involving growth, increase, abundance, and creative force.

Tracing the 3-6-9 Triangle — Working with Polarity & the Divine Axis

The 3-6-9 triangle is the shape of the trinity — of the divine triad that underlies all polarity in the universe. Its open base makes it a receiving form rather than a closed container, aligned with the Goddess and with lunar, receptive, and spiritual energies.

Method: Beginning at the position of 9 (the crown, the apex — representing the divine source, the Goddess, the High Self), draw downward to 3 with your right hand while simultaneously drawing downward to 6 with your left. The two lines open outward like wings descending from the crown. This gesture mirrors the posture of invocation — arms raised to the Goddess and then opened wide.

With Incense: Trace from 9 downward along both arms of the triangle simultaneously if you hold two incense sticks, or sequentially. The smoke descending from 9 to 3 and 9 to 6 represents spiritual force pouring down into the polarity of the manifest world. As the smoke meets and mingles at the lower positions, the polarities are united in the working.

Polarity Working: The oscillating +/− nature of 3 and 6 makes this triangle ideal for workings involving polarity magic — the drawing together of opposing forces, the balancing of masculine and feminine energies, healing of division, or the calling of a partner. The moment of polarity reversal — when 3 and 6 switch simultaneously — corresponds to the magical moment of transformation at the heart of a working.

Protection: The open triangle of 3-6-9 drawn around a space (traced at each of the four quarters, with 9 always at the top) creates a field of divine oversight — the eye of the 9 at the apex witnesses all that passes through the protected space, while the oscillating arms of 3 and 6 deflect and neutralise intrusive energies through polarity reversal.

The Complete Matrix — Combining Both Shapes

When both shapes are traced together — the doubling circuit star and the 3-6-9 triangle — the practitioner works with the complete Rodin Energy Matrix: the intersection of manifest electromagnetic flow (1–8) and divine organisational principle (3-6-9).

Sequence for a Full Working:

  1. Centre yourself. Place your awareness at the central crossing point — the heart of the matrix, the point where both circuits cross. This is the energy core, visualised as a white-yellow-green flame.
  2. Trace the 3-6-9 triangle first — establishing the divine container, calling in the axis of 9 and the polarity wings of 3 and 6.
  3. Trace the doubling circuit — both directions simultaneously if possible — flowing the manifest energy through the container just established.
  4. Hold awareness at the central crossing as you state your intention. This is the point of maximum energy convergence — the moment represented in the animation by the white flash. Every time the circuits cross here, a polarity reversal fires: your intention is embedded in the reversal, transmuted from desire into cosmic pattern.
  5. Close by returning to 9 — thanking the divine axis for its witness and releasing the energy to work.

Traditional Correspondences:
9 — Moon / Completion / The Goddess / White
3 — Fire / Will / The South / Red
6 — Water / Love / The West / Green
Central Cross — Akasha / Spirit / The Centre / Gold

The Toroidal Universe

Underlying all of this is Rodin’s central cosmological claim: that the universe itself is shaped as a torus — a donut or vortex form — and that the base-ten number system is not a human invention but a natural consequence of this toroidal geometry. The doubling circuit maps the flow of energy across the surface of the torus; the 3-6-9 axis maps the central channel through its core.

This aligns with a remarkable convergence across disciplines: toroidal forms appear in the structure of atoms, in the shape of Earth’s magnetic field, in the behaviour of plasma in stars, in the Fibonacci spirals of galaxies, and in the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros — the serpent eating its own tail, the circuit that returns always to its own beginning.

The animation you see above is not merely decorative. It is a working model of the energy matrix as Rodin described it — two counter-rotating circuits of electromagnetic potential, governed by the divine axis of 9 and the oscillating polarity of 3 and 6, with the central crossing as the heart of the generated field: the point at which all of this energy converges, flashes into being, and reverses.
